In Your Corner’s Executive Board

Robert Schmidt, MD

Dr. Schmidt is the Founder and President of IYC. He earned a Pharm D degree from UNC and an MD from the Medical College of Wisconsin. As a Nephrologist, Bob cared for Triangle area patients for over twenty years. He is especially proud of his work at Durham’s Lincoln Community Health Center and active kidney transplant clinic. Although unable to practice medicine since his lung transplant, Bob has turned his energy to the needs of the transplant family. His unique perspective – physician and patient – allows him to create a program tailored to the transplant patient. IYC is that program.

David Atkinson, MSW, MDiv

Mr. Atkinson received his Masters in Divinity from Southeast Seminary and MSW from East Carolina University. He has extensive experience with both the psychosocial and business operational aspects of health care. Among his many accomplishments, David acted as the Director of Carteret County Department of Social Services, President of the NC Association of County Directors of Social Services, and is the inaugural Director of the Carteret County Department of Human Services – a consolidation of Social Services, Child Support and Public Health. Mr Atkinson was recipient of the 2016 East Carolina School of Social Work Distinguished Alumnus Award.

Amanda Jones-Howard

Ms. Jones-Howard brings an exceptional skill set to IYC. She has extensive experience in property management, including supervision of a 277 unit apartment complex. Amanda’s contributions to nonprofit organizations span more than 20 years. She served on the Executive Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Barbara, CA and the Board of Directors for the Broughton High School Boosters, winning numerous merit awards. She has Chaired numerous Not for Profit fundraising events in California and North Carolina.

Scott Mc Graw, MD

Dr. McGraw hails from the great state of Wisconsin. He was selected for enrollment into the Army Health Professions Scholarship Program and graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin with honors. Army Major McGraw completed his Radiology Residency at the prestigious Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Scott established a very successful solo Radiology practice in Fayetteville, NC. He brings to IYC a vast experience in business management and fund raising success.
